O’Dell Engineering, a Westwood company created a recreational use plan for the S. Reinway Avenue parcel in Waterford, CA. As a terminus of the river trail, this 16 acre City-owned parcel is a crucial element of the parks and trails system in the community. The site is near the Tuolumne River and it’s trails, and Waterford High School. Our team provided master planning services including site analysis, site research, community outreach, conceptual plans, and a final master plan. The community outreach portion of the project was vital to determining final uses, amenities, and features of the future park. The final conceptual master plan included a multi-use lawn area, a soccer field, basketball courts, a children’s playground, a splash pad, an adult/children play trail, horseshoe pits with seating and barbecues, a plaza with seating, a shade structure with seating, an amphitheater, new restrooms with showers, a new parking lot, open space trails, and a network of stormwater basins and bioswales.
