The River Islands Lakes and Drainage Systems Project included the design of an integrated lake system within the 4,905 acre unit master planned community in Lathrop, CA.  In addition to functioning as a community amenity, the lakes provide stormwater management and water quality treatment control functionality.  A total of nine lakes are in the Phase 1 development in the River Islands Master Plan.  The lakes have multiple functions including irrigation water supply, stormwater collection, equalization, and conveyance to a central lake (Lake 3) for intake to a stormwater pump station that conveys flood water west to land outside of the proposed interior levee system within Phase 1.  The total lake area is 88.25 acres. This water system contains approximately 455 million gallons of water with a length of lake shoreline of approximately 28,000 linear feet.
