Responding to community desires of a new pump track in Livermore, LARPD commissioned O’Dell Engineering, a Westwood company to help conceptualize the designs. Building upon a long history of long-term relationships with professionals in related industries, including skatepark design build firms, we are collaborating with Spohn Ranch to provide landscape design services for the Sunken Gardens Pump Track. The design features a dedicated “jump line”, a separate kids track area, “cross overs” providing the ability to move from one pathway to another as well as a “wall ride” – comprised of wooded slats that are placed on top of a curved section of track, allowing the riders to take a curve while riding on these slanted wooden slats! To combat wear and tear of wheeled activities along adjacent areas of the pump track, we also provided recommendations within the interior areas of the pump track that were safe, budget-friendly, and low-maintenance. The project was a collaborative effort in creating a high-quality pump track that will serve wheeled sport enthusiasts within the Livermore community and beyond for years to come.
