Centennial Park is a socially inclusive and sensory integrated playground located at the City of Madera’s Community Center. It is designed to meet specific developmental needs of all children while removing boundaries that keep children, siblings, parents, caretakers and grandparents from playing together. It is themed to match the local California foothills at a skewed scale giving patrons the feel of walking through an oversized poppy meadow. The park was funded through a low income incentive program. Improvements include new site lighting, irrigation retrofits, restrooms, socially inclusive play, ADA access retrofits, and picnic facilities.
