Hyatt House & Hyatt Place

O’Dell Engineering, a Westwood company is providing planning and design services to support the development of the Hyatt House & Hyatt Place in Livermore, CA. As part of planning approvals, a conceptual site plan, preliminary grading and utility studies, conceptual landscape plans, and renderings were completed.

Focused on enhancing both an extended stay experience for guests and creating a unique amenity for the larger community, the site design is focused on ways to create a warm, inviting, and comfortable environment. Despite the fact that the site is close to a busy freeway, the landscape design elements have been carefully selected to make users feel closer to home, allowing them to easily connect with others through enhanced social spaces. Some of these elements include vegetated green walls (to screen some of the parking), vines to soften the garage structure walls, a water cascade entry focal to create a soothing effect, a central courtyard pool deck, bio-retention areas to help treat site run-off, and a water-efficient planting palette with a variety of colors and textures.
