When complete, Hart Ranch Community Park is anticipated to be a state-of-the-art community park, drawing residents and visitors from across the Central Valley. The 15-acre park highlights O’Dell Engineering, a Westwood company’s specialty in crafting unique, inclusive spaces while creatively balancing sustainable, environmental, and recreational needs for local communities. The team prepared construction documents for nature themed, accessible playground areas, an artificial lake with a boardwalk, an educational interpretive trail at the perimeter, a water spray park, baseball practice fields, a large multi-purpose field for sports practice and events, a community garden, and trail fitness stations. Sustainability was a core design component and the design team maximized water and energy saving technologies, including use of native, drought tolerant plants, bioswales to improve stormwater runoff, solar panels above the restroom, water efficient irrigation equipment, and recycled materials in site furnishings. This is one of many California Prop 68 grant park projects we had the pleasure of working on!
