O’Dell Engineering was retained as a sub-consultant to perform the topography survey and landscape architecture for the design improvements of an updated hospital to be managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Survey responsibilities included verifying the existing survey control in the adjacent roadways, establishing additional survey control for the construction site, and locating existing improvements horizontally and vertically, both on-site and surrounding the construction limits. Landscape architecture responsibilities included construction drawings and specifications of landscape amenities around four new medical buildings. Drawings included recreational and picnic facilities for the inner courts and adjacent landscapes, walking paths, outdoor seating areas, irrigation plans, planting plans, landscape grading plans, and landscape stormwater drainage plans. After the design was completed, O’Dell Engineering was also contracted to perform the construction staking of the new facility improvements.
