Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors Consider 25 Year Transportation Tax

On Wednesday, February 26, 2014 the Modesto Bee Newspaper reported that the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors was listening to concerns by opponents of a proposed ½ % sales tax to fund transportation projects within the County over the next 25 years. According to the article, most of the tax would be used as a local match to secure Federal and State grants for the transportation projects.
County officials believe 25 million dollars of the local tax revenue could be used to gain as much as 210 million dollars in outside funding for bridge replacements and upgrades.
