Modesto Mayor Discusses City Council Decision to Include Wood Colony in City’s Growth Plan

On Sunday, February 16, 2014 the Modesto Bee Newspaper reported that Modesto Mayor Garrad Marsh had appeared before residents of Wood Colony to discuss the inclusion of their community in Modesto’s growth plan. According to the article, the Modesto City Council approve a land map for the General Plan Amendment that includes 211 acres in Wood Colony for commercial development and another 941 acres for business parks. The article also indicates the general plan amendment being discussed would double the 1000 acres in Wood Colony that are already included in the City’s general plan. None of the land in Wood Colony is currently in the City’s sphere of influence, nor has it been annexed.
