O’Dell Engineering has just completed field surveys to support the design of street improvements in the Fuller Neighborhood in Chowchilla, California. As part of the project O’Dell Engineering will develop an engineering design that will increase the safety of pedestrians who walk to local schools in the neighborhood.Terrestrial laser scanning technology was used in the surveys for the project. This technology allows O’Dell Engineering to capture a highly details and accurate model of the street topography. This model is made up of millions of points and is called a “point cloud”.

O’Dell Engineering has now begun the work of extracting the survey data from the point cloud needed for the design of the street improvements.
