On December 13, 2013 the San Francisco Chronicle reported that a building boom in the City has brought in unexpected funds to City Government. The funds are from development fees paid by land developers. The funds are used to pay for street, transit, and open space improvements within the city limits. According to the article recent projections indicate the City of San Francisco will bring in 50 million dollars more in development fees over the next 5 years than they expected last year.
